Currently, the Kuwait Patent Office does not examine patent applications. However, applications filed in Kuwait are officially considered evidence of title and priority and are valid at the commencement of examination. From January 2023, patent applications in Kuwait can be filed through the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

IPVN conducts formality examination and substantive examination of utility model patents. IPVN has no restrictions on the fields of utility model patent applications. Utility models can be applied for in all fields covered by inventions, but all utility models will undergo substantive examination. A patent applicant/anyone needs to file a substantive request no later than 36 months from the filing date.

• Grant fee: The applicant needs to pay the granted fee within 60 days after the granted notice, and the granted fee includes the maintenance fee for the first five-year validity period
• Annuity: The annual fee for the subsequent second five-year validity period can be paid at the same time as the first annual fee, or it can be paid within the first five-year validity period. If the annual fee is overdue, it can be paid within a six-month grace period, and Pay late fees at the same time.

MOIC conducts formality examination and substantive examination of invention patent applications. A request for substantive examination should be submitted after passing the formality examination, and other national patent offices other than Bahrain can be selected for examination.

A 12-month novelty grace period applies if the disclosure results from a breach of confidentiality, or if the inventor exhibits at an international exhibition or society.

A novelty grace period of 6 months prior to the filing date/priority date may be granted if the invention is disclosed as a result of apparent misuse by the applicant or its former right holders, or if the invention is exhibited at an official or officially recognized exhibition.

The grace period for novelty of an Indian design application is 6 months from the date of disclosure, provided the exhibitor has given prior notification to the Patent Office in the prescribed form. According to the provisions of the Indian Patent Act, the manner of disclosure shall be:
- Presentation of designs at industrial or other fairs
- Publication of the design during or after the exhibition
- Display or publication of designs or design descriptions by third parties during or after the fair without the consent of the design owner
